So many cats and so few of us to help!!"

I received an email from a dear friend who is always there to help out. Strangers call her concerning injured cats or in this case, a cat capture during this week where the temperatures dipped extremely low! She wrote this in the email:  "Never a dull moment...Just got a 911, someone who is NOT a cat person (afraid of them) but has a heart has trapped a freezing boy in her garage.  He looks adorable and not sure what to do... So many cats and so few of us to help!!
So few of us to help!! If there ever was an Understatement, this would be the winner! When I moved here back in 2014, I did not know my life would involve rescuing cats.
In the neighbor's yard were two cats laying down and they did not move as I pulled in the driveway with the U-haul truck. I later found out that the previous renter just left these cats when she moved out. The long hair one had clumps of fur falling out and they both looked starved. How could anyone do that thinking the next person will take care of them?
The philosopher Thomas Aquinas believed that God created animals in order to teach human beings how to be merciful. The bible states God charged us with stewardship and dominion over all that he created and loves.

If everyone saw what is really going on in this world, they would understand why this is happening today. If we can not care for the animals in this world, how can we really care about people in this world? It is so easy to be in our man made caves to watch TV and have no real care about what is going on outside.

Here is an idea to ponder: Think about all the people you know that have pets. What type of person are they compared to the people that do not have pets. I am willing to bet that you will see that the people who care for pets, Care For Their Fellow mankind.
